Parents/Guardians and Students,

Welcome back to KLPS for the beginning of another school year. I hope that
everyone has enjoyed a wonderful summer.

In the first week of school, we'll be reconnecting with old friends and
welcoming new families to our school. We'll all be eager to get to know Ms.
Potashner, Ms. Reeve, and all the other new faces on the Kettle Lakes staff.
We'll also be establishing the routines for our class and the school as a
whole. One of the first responsibilities for students will be to bring home
various forms and papers for parents/guardians to read, sign, and return to
school.

Our Grade 7 trip to VORC will be coming up early in the year, and we are
hoping to arrange a team building day again at Camp Robin Hood for the
intermediate classes. Keep a look out for permission forms coming home soon.

Students will be given agendas for purchase as usual. We will try to be
consistent about entering homework on this site too so that it's easy to check
on what needs to be done each day. We only enter homeroom subjects on the
homework page so, students, remember to write down assignments from French
and other rotary subjects.

Student Supplies: We have materials in the class needed for all activities we
do at school. Of course, many students bring their own school supply kit.
Refer to the "Student Supplies" page for any items that you may choose to
purchase.

For our Grade 8s, this is a particularly exciting year. As the year
progresses, there will be information and updates regarding high school
registration, course selection, and graduation!

Communication between home and school is very important. I will aim to phone
each family during September to introduce myself. Parents and guardians,
please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
